These casters can buff your unit stats or debuff the enemy so it is easier to break through. (Optional) A single caster- Any of your choosing. These can pair with the gate breaking unit. ![]() They can't be just tankiest or have the best damage. These units role is to kill the enemy behind the gate. My Recommendation for a balanced army composition:ġ Gate breaking unit- Lord on a Mammoth, Throgg, regular Mammoths, Trolls, Giants, Fimir Warriors(I forgot if they have siege attacker), The special Hellcannon unit that Hound worshipper gets.ġ-2 of your strongest melee unit available. For heroes, definitely take a shaman and/or balefiend to get that magic, and a werekin can provide pretty good versatility with its high speed, armour piercing and regen Javelins can be a good anti monster tool and ice wolf chariots can be a good speedy infantry blender as well if you have the space for them/want some more variety. I would say a good balanced late game army you should aim for the would be a solid infantry block of marauder champions, some supporting fimir to provide some serious damage, skin wolves for skirmishing/anti cav and some mammoths for smashing through the enemy line. For army composition, I understand not wanting to go mammoth spam as it is pretty cheesy, but mammoths still are your best units so I definitely don't completely leave them. Red tree, a mount or legendary lord skills are usually best to take next, but don't bother spending points upgrading units that you'll soon be replacing with more elite stuff, unless you want to make a really themed army (like full troll with Throgg) Usually I'll focus on two or three unit types to buff in red, and then spend what's left in yellow. ![]() I always start with blue tree, getting lightning strike is essential, especially on harder difficulty and army cost reduction is always useful. ![]() Like basically all races, you should build your lords skills around what will be useful in your late game.
